LEXUS RX

The Lexus RX is a Japanese luxury crossover SUV manufactured by Toyota and sold by Lexus since 1998. It is assembled at Toyota Motor Kyushu. The Lexus RX features a 275-horsepower 2.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, seating for five, and up to 12 airbags for safety. It is  available in the following colors: Eminent White Pearl, Iridium, Cloudburst Gray, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Nightfall Mica, Nori Green Pearl, and Copper Crest.

LEXUS RX ORIGIN

The model name ‘RX’ stands for Radiant Crossover. Lexus originally released the RX in Japan as the Toyota Harrier in 1997. There have been five generations of the RX, with the first being a compact SUV and the latter being mid-size. The Highlander/Kluger is the RX’s current Toyota counterpart; previous counterparts include the Harrier and Venza.

LEXUS RX GENERATIONS

FIRST GENERATION (XU10; 1998-2000)

Lexus equipped this generation of the RX with a 4-speed automatic transmission and built it in Miyawaka, Fukuoka, Japan. Makoto Oshima designed the RX in 1995, and it shared its body and chassis with the Lexus ES and Toyota Windom (XV20). It featured various gasoline engine options, including a 2.2L 5S-FE I4, 2.4L 2AZ-FE I4, and 3.0L 1MZ-FE V6.

SECOND GENERATION (XU30; 2003-2006)

The RX, designed by Hiroshi Suzuki and Takumi Ichikawa, was assembled in Miyawaka, Japan, and Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, on the Toyota K platform. It shares its chassis with the Lexus ES and Toyota Highlander and features engine options ranging from a 2.4L I4 to a 3.3L hybrid V6

THIRD GENERATION (AL10; 2008-2012)

This Lexus RX was designed by Masanari Sakae, Hiroyuki Tada, Shinno Kato and Tokiko Gamou. It is assembled in Japan and Canada. The RX offers a versatile range of powertrains, featuring both a 6-speed automatic CVT transmission with a gasoline hybrid engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission paired with a gasoline engine.

FOURTH GENERATION (AL20; 2015-2019)

Gen Ikeda designed the Lexus RX, which Lexus builds in two locations: Miyawaka, Fukuoka, Japan, and Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.It is a five-door SUV based on the Toyota K platform, similar to the Lexus ES and Toyota Highlander/Kluger. It has several engine options, including a 2.0L turbocharged I4 , a 3.5L V6 gasoline engine , and a 3.5L hybrid V6. The transmission options include a 6-speed automatic (RX 200t/300), an 8-speed automatic , and an eCVT for the hybrid.

FIFTH GENERATION (ALA10/ALH10; 2022)

Jōta Kusakari designed this Lexus RX, which Lexus builds on the TNGA: GA-K platform and assembles in Miyawaka, Japan, and Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. It has a variety of powertrains, including gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid alternatives, with engines such as the 2.4L turbo I4 and 2.5L I4 hybrid. Transmission options include 8-speed automatics and eCVT systems, while plug-in hybrids have an electric range of up to 86 kilometers (53 miles).
