TOYOTA SUPRA

The Toyota Supra is a Japanese sports car and grand tourer manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation, since April 1978. The Supra features a 3-door liftback or fastback coupe body design with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout.

TOYOTA SUPRA ORIGIN

Toyota also referred to the Supra as the Toyota Celica XX in Japan and the Toyota Celica Supra abroad from 1978 to 1986. It later became the Toyota GR Supra from 2019 to the present. Production initially went from 1978 until August 2002, and resumed in March 2019. Toyota’s legacy in sports cars and grand tourers lives on with the Supra, which replaced the Celica.

TOYOTA SUPRA GENERATIONS

Toyota built it between April 1978 and June 1981, basing it on the Toyota Celica platform at the Tahara facility in Aichi, Japan. SECOND GENERATION  (A60; 1981)

Toyota manufactured it from July 1981 to December 1985 at the Tahara facility in Aichi, Japan. Toyota marketed it as the Toyota Celica XX in Japan and sold it worldwide as the Toyota Celica Supra. THIRD GENERATION (A70; 1986)
