TOYOTA SIENNA
The Toyota Sienna is a mini-van manufactured and marketed primarily in North America by Toyota. It is available in the following colors: Celestial Silver Metallic, Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Cement, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Ruby Flare Pearl, Cypress, and Blueprint.
TOYOTA SIENNA ORIGIN
Toyota automobile named the Sienna after the Italian city of Siena. It replaced the previous generation Previa van in 1997 with a more traditional front-wheel drive configuration and shares a considerably revised platform with the Camry. The Toyota Sienna and its predecessor, the Previa, were initially smaller than competing minivans, but a redesign in 2003 enlarged their size to match those of their competitors. In China, Toyota markets the Sienna as the Toyota Granvia.
TOYOTA SIENNA GENERATION
FIRST GENERATION (XL10; 1997)
The Sienna launched with a 3.0-liter 1MZ-FE V6 engine rated at 194 horsepower (145 kW) and 209 lb⋅ft (284 N⋅m).Toyota built the Sienna on the expanded platform of the XV20 Camry and appropriately marketed it as the “Camry of minivans.” It came with three trim levels: CE, LE, and XLE. The LE and XLE models had second-row captain’s chairs, whereas the CE models had a second-row bench seat for two passengers.
Toyota built this generation of the Sienna in Georgetown, Kentucky, and it stood out for its remarkable safety features, being one of the few minivans at the time to offer options like front seat-mounted side torso airbags and Vehicle Stability Control. Antilock brakes were standard.
SECOND GENERATION
Toyota launched the second-generation Sienna on January 6, 2003, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Changes from the first generation included 45% more overall volume and 39% more cargo room. The seats featured a 60/40 split layout, and the flat-folding third-row seat was available even with all-wheel drive. A revised ULEV-certified 3.3-liter 3MZ-FE V6 engine powered it, paired with a new five-speed automatic transmission. Toyota relocated the gear shifter from the steering column to the center console, adopting a gated shift pattern.
Trim levels, in order of increasing standard and available features, were: CE, LE, XLE, and XLE Limited (renamed Limited later).
The second generation’s standard features included remote keyless entry, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and high solar energy-absorbing glass (HSEA) on the windshield and front windows.
THIRD GENERATION (XL30; 2010)
Toyota unveiled the redesigned Sienna at the Los Angeles Auto Show in December 2009 for the 2011 model year. Calty Studios created it, while Toyota’s Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan collaborated on its engineering.
In the United States, the third-generation Sienna was available in five trim levels: base, LE, XLE, Limited, and for the first time, SE.
New features included an optional sliding second row with “Lounge Seating” reclining style chairs, a feature previously seen on the Lexus LS, and Toyota’s keyless Smart Key System with push-button start. The rear seat entertainment system now features a 16.4-inch LCD screen with two viewing modes: a single 16:9-ratio widescreen or two separate 4:3-ratio split displays with Bluetooth headphones.
FOURTH GENERATION
Toyota virtually unveiled the fourth-generation Sienna on May 18, 2020. Built on the GA-K platform, this new model marked a significant shift, with all trim levels featuring a standard hybrid powertrain
