FORD MUSTANG
The Ford Mustang is a classic sports car manufactured by Ford. The Mustang is also known as the Ford T5. It has been in production since 1964 and is currently the longest-produced Ford car nameplate. The Ford Mustang is known for its powerful engines and impressive performance. The Ford T5 has 4 body styles: 2-door coupe, 3-door hatchback, 2-door fastback, and 2-door convertible. It comes in the following colors: Grabber Blue Metallic, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Vapor Blue Metallic, Molten Magenta Metallic Tri-coat, Oxford White, and Race Red. The T5 interior is of 2 colors: Onyx Black and Space Gray.
FORD MUSTANG GENERATIONS
FIRST GENERATION (1965)
The first generation prototype was a 2-seat, mid-mounted engine roadster powered by the German Ford Taunus V4 engine.
SECOND GENERATION (1974)
Launched in September 1973, the Mustang II featured a reduced size, allowing it to compete with imported sports coupes successfully.
THIRD GENERATION (1979)
This model was based on the larger Fox platform, resulting in a longer wheelbase, increased interior space for four passengers, a larger trunk, and an expanded engine bay. This generation introduced two distinct front-end designs.
FOURTH GENERATION (SN95; 1994)
Debuting in 1993, this model was codenamed “SN95.” It was built on an updated version of the rear-wheel-drive Fox platform, referred to as Fox-4.
FIFTH GENERATION (S197; 2005)
Introduced in 2005, the S197 was built on the new D2C platform. The 2010 model year introduced a redesigned exterior featuring sequential LED taillights and a reduced drag coefficient of 4% on base models and 7% on GT models for improved aerodynamics.
SIXTH generation (S550; 2015)
Unveiled on December 5, 2013, this generation introduced a new independent rear suspension (IRS) system. In 2015, it earned a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for front, side, and rollover crash protection.
SEVENTH GENERATION (S650; 2024)- Dark Horse
Ford previewed this generation at the 2022 Detroit Auto Show in September during “The Stampede.” This generation began production in May 2023 at Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant.
